A breast lift is a surgical operation that treats "breast ptosis," which is defined as an excess of loose, inelastic skin that results in a sagging or drooping look.
Breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, involves raising and tightening the breasts into a more youthful posture. The surgery removes extra tissue that causes the breasts to drop lower down the chest and then tightens the remaining skin. You may like the size of your breasts but not the form. A breast lift will not enhance your breast size or add fullness to the top of your breast. Furthermore, hard lifting and certain workouts, such as yoga, should be avoided for six weeks to allow the wounds to heal completely. Minor discomfort and/or edema are common at first (particularly if implants were put during the breast lift treatment); however, these symptoms are frequently adequately treated with medication and should lessen with time. Most people say that the pain they feel after a breast lift is mild to moderate. Pain is usually worst in the first two to three days after the procedure, and it gets better after that. Your surgeon can give you painkillers to make you feel better if you are in pain.
Usually, a breast lift makes the bra size go down by one cup. Most of the time, though, this is not because of volume loss. When sagging breast tissue and extra skin are cut away or moved, the cup size naturally decreases.
